NMHIMA HIM Scholarship Application

The New Mexico Health Information Management Association is awarding a $500.00 scholarship to assist health information majors, including health information, health informatics, coding, or health information technology. Please submit this application to be considered for this great opportunity! The scholarship is awarded in April 2022.

Eligibility Requirements

Undergraduate

• AHIMA/NMHIMA member
• Major in Health Information or health information-related discipline in a CAHIIM accredited program, full-time or part-status, and not in their final semester
• Minimum GPA of 3.0

Graduate

• AHIMA/NMHIMA member
• Enrolled in a program with areas related to HIM or Health Informatics

Application Requirements

• Complete & submit this application with the necessary documents by April 15.
• Documents required:
  1. Copy of current course schedule, with major identifiable
  2. Unofficial transcripts/GPA proof of 3.0 or higher
  3. Name and contact information of program director
  4. Letter of reference from a faculty from your program of study or professional colleague.
  5. Personal Statement
